bansheeryder_69 Posted March 27, 2005 Report Posted March 27, 2005 Alright I was down at the local dealership and I asked the parts guy about the degree key and he said that all thats going to do is help me burn down my bike. In a way I think thats true cause doesn't advancing the timing make your motor run hotter? And he said degree keys just sheer off and mess up your motor. What do you guys think? Quote

icemanscold Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 Well first off I would not go to that dealership anymore, the man has no idea what he is talking about. With my mods it was essential that I have a degree key, helping me advance my timing to allow my machine to run better with all my mods. Keeping an eye on your spark plugs has saved me countless problems, but as for a down side on the vitos degree key I have found absoultley none. Quote
SICK BOY Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 (edited) I ran a degree key for 2 years with no problems,the key to it is making sure it is installed right.As for dealers F*CK THEM,I once had a dealer tell me I was buying jets that were "way to large for your machaine".I told the guy that the carbs are not stock,and told him of the work done to my motor and this is what he told me "it dosen't matter what work you have done to your motor,if you need 290 mains Yamaha would of put them in when they made it".
