05bansh Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 So I wrecked last week. I was going too fast and cleared the downside of a dune, landing in the flat. I told some of you I bent my handle bars, dented my pipe, etc. But I noticed if you look at my wheels from the front (when the handle bars are straight) the left wheel is slightly toed out. I cant find anything wrong with the Tie rods, A-arms, ball joints, etc. The reason I think its the steering stem is after the wreck I noticed the bottom of the steering stem where the cotter pins go through started rubbing on my radiator hose when I would turn my handle bars. But when I look at the steering stem it looks fine. I need some opinions, does it sound like the steering stem or something else? Quote
PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 Sounds like the stem is a definate possibility, got any pictures you could post? Quote
05bansh Posted March 25, 2005 Author Report Posted March 25, 2005 Sorry I havent got any pics up I havent had time. I am almost positive I need a new stem though. So what steering stem do you guys think would be better (and stronger of coarse) between the Lone Star 4130 Chromoly Steel or the Roll Design 17-4 Cast Stainless Steel? And also what is the point, and benifit of having a +1 extended steering stem? Quote

The benefit of a plus 1 for most people is better reach and control of the quad while standing. Just make sure and get the anti-vibe system, they are awesome. Good luck on your decision. Quote
