jeepin247us Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 Last fall I was checking out my compression and although I don't remember the exact readings I do remember that there was 10-12psi difference between the cylinders, so I figured it was time for a new topend. Got a piston and gasket set from Nameura, seemed like a good set haven't really heard much about them, but decided to give them a try. So while having the head off I decided I'd shave it down and ended up taking .027" off, I didn't want to go any further because from what I've read most people only go like .030" or so. So I'm figuring that this is going to get me right around 150psi or so which is what I was looking for. Got the thing back together last night...warmed it up...and did a compression test to see where I'm at....130/L 132/R checked it twice and got the same reading...Although I am happy that both cylinders are just about equal I figured that the compression would be alot higher. Does temperature effect compression? it's about 30 here in MI Quote
04ShEeLE Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 I know altitude has a large effect on compression Quote
