y2kbanshee9187 Posted March 14, 2005 Report Posted March 14, 2005 Ok, I am in the process of putting new pistons in. There was some dirt in the bottom end. I was trying to get it out with a vaccum and rags. I drained the crankcase oil, it only came out of one side for some reason. After I got most of the dirt out, like a dumbass I put some 80W crankcase oil down in there thinking it would drain out and bring the rest of the dirt with it. Obviously it didnt drain. I got a rag and got most of the oil out of there. There is barely any left, there is just some left on the bearings on the rods. and stuff. Will this be bad when I start it up? Or will it not do any harm? Man I am an idiot for doing this and expect some crap for it so lets hear it. Quote
spoin39 Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 No big deal, get all you can out, then put in your normal tranny fluid. Quote
juldan1 Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 I dont see a problem, If you got most of it out. I rebuild them all the time and use 2 stroke oil and run it in the pin bearing and rod down to the crank. you can try flipping it on it side also, the whole bike that is. Quote
sheefreak Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 I think you are speaking of the sealed crankshaft part of the lower cases, if this is so you didn't nessecarily hurt anything, but will smoke a lot at first. I believe you can flush that out w/kerosene, but may want to wait until some more people chime in because I am not positive. Quote
