BigRed350x Posted March 14, 2005 Report Posted March 14, 2005 I am at 7500 feet most of the time, about 40-50degrees, ported, K&N clamp on in airbox w/ no lid, stock pipes, aftermarket silencers though, stock carbs, TORS system taken off. mains: 200 Pilots: 25 Needle: 2nd from blunt end I've had some people tell me that this should be way lean, but when I do a plug chop everything looks ok. I want to go up to a 27.5 on the pilots, but no one in town has 27.5 pilots, and the stealership wants $9.00 to order them. Is it the stock pipes that are keeping everything down low? I have 210 mains as well, but when I run those it smokes a little much at WOT. Right now the plugs look chocolate brown all over, no white on the plugs. I run yamahalube at 32:1 or 36:1. Does this sound right? I run 14x42 gearing and it has plenty of power. I am actually thinking about going to a 15, since I can yank my front end up in 4th gear with a little pull and some throttle cruising down loose gravel roads. If I am on grass or have good traction it will come off the ground in 4th with a slip of the clutch right before the powerband. Quote
BigRed350x Posted March 14, 2005 Author Report Posted March 14, 2005 Oh yeah... until the bike gets pretty hot (like 20-30 min of riding) the left cylinder will smoke at any throttle position, and the right will only smoke for about 5 min until its warm. Is this an air screw problem or what? Brand new top end with about 125psi compression at 7500 ft on both cylinders. why does the left smoke so much compared to the right. Quote
