Capone Posted March 6, 2005 Report Posted March 6, 2005 lol, ok i was riding today, and all the sudden the clutch is gone. I take off the side case, and the posts that the screws go into, 3 posts broke off, 1 broke half way off. Any reason this could happen besides abuse, and weakness? Also, where can I get this part, possible aftermarket options? Thanks! Quote

BdBanshee Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 Could the bolts holding the springs in have been overtorqued? I think the spec is 7.5 ft. pounds. Quote
99screaminshee Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 looks like ur basket is not real healthy lookin see the grooves on the fingers that can break shit too Quote
Capone Posted March 7, 2005 Author Report Posted March 7, 2005 see the grooves on the fingers that can break shit too 334661 can they be temporarly ground down? or does it have to have a new one? Quote
99screaminshee Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 if they arent real deep u can use a flat file to clean them up but dont take alot off or round them Quote
Capone Posted March 9, 2005 Author Report Posted March 9, 2005 Well, they're pretty deep. Could that have caused the clutch to not engauge all the time, and to slip othertimes? I'm really pondering a billet basket now.. What do ya think? Quote
ledofthezep Posted March 9, 2005 Report Posted March 9, 2005 Damn...1st for me. Never seen that B4. Could the bolts holding the springs in have been overtorqued? I think the spec is 7.5 ft. pounds. 334655 I absolutely hate tightening those little bastards, can't cound how many I've snapped, just getting them to the propper torque. I will tell you that the screw holding your front fenders will work as a temp.... Quote
