SO a cdi will basically do the same as a timing advance?  What about doing both, or am i gonna blow this thing to pieces if i did that?

If you do both you can cause damage. You can advance your timing a set degree with a degree key $20 or a timing plate $35. But the advantage to a CDI such as the Dyna it will constantly adjust the timing advance I
