bluescreamer01 Posted February 18, 2005 Report Posted February 18, 2005 Hey guys I am new to the 2stroke world. I always had 4strokes but anyway I just bought a 01 banshee yesterday and it isn't running right. Here is how it is acting, it is not real hard to start but it will not idle. It also does not seem to want to take throttle real well. It is like you have just shut the gas off and then all at onece it opens up and runs great. It does this in all gears including nutral. The guy I got it from said that it hasent idled sinse he had it and he had the carbs checked out and they said they looked new and couldn't find any problems with them. I have talked to some shops and told them how it acts and i have been told TORS, and the two screws in the back of the carbs. They told me to screw them all the way in and then turn them back out one turn and that should be a base point to start from. I did that and started it up and it would idle there but way to fast. If i turne it out one more turn them i am back wear i started from. Can anyone help me out here? Quote
Rattlehead Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 You need to keep that screw at 1 turn. I asume you are talking about the air screw. Leave it at 1 turn and adjust the idle down then ride it. If problem still persists turn her out another 1/4 turn. Sounds like the slow curcuit is out of adjustment. If it runs fine from half throttle to full throttle then it is most likely that. Try it, couldn't hurt!?!?! Later and good luck. Quote
