dawgfan Posted February 16, 2005 Report Posted February 16, 2005 i am in the process of rejetting and everytime I do a WOT plug chop I notice a dark, gritty, oily residue coming out of the exhaust ports. I thought it was just unburned fuel in the cylinder running out after I killed it for the plug chop, but it's very oily! Is this normal or should I do a comp test to see if my rings are gone? Quote
sheefreak Posted February 16, 2005 Report Posted February 16, 2005 If it is real oily it has nothing to do w/your rings, they don't seal oil. Is it just comeing out of you right side(throttle side)? If it is it is probably your right side crank seal. If this seal is bad, it will suck tranny fluid and blow it right out your exhaust. Quote

It was definitly worse on that side. I'll go double check to be sure, but pretty sure there was a little leaking on the left also. Quote
