05bansh Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 So I took my shee to the dunes yesterday. It was my first time riding on my new CPI's, they kicked ass! But.... Since they stick out a bit from the frame, while I was riding the inside of my riding pants rubbed on the pipes and melted part of my pants on the pipes Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the melted shit off of my pipes? DUNEDEMON Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 #00 Steel Wool and some glass cleaner will take it right off and not harm the chrome - DO NOT use a Scotchbrite pad! It will scratch the chrome. Quote
05bansh Posted January 26, 2005 Author Report Posted January 26, 2005 Sweet! Thanks for the info! Where the hell can I buy #00 steel wool? Do hardware stores carry it? Quote

RNBRAD Posted January 27, 2005 Report Posted January 27, 2005 Also dip the steel wool in a little mothers polish, this helps remove burnt stuff even better. Quote
05bansh Posted January 28, 2005 Author Report Posted January 28, 2005 Well I didnt use any mothers polish yet. Just the steel wool and windex. It took most of it off, but some spots wont come off. Any other suggestions? Quote
