sredish Posted January 22, 2005 Report Posted January 22, 2005 I'm running my PT Mids right now, but I think I'm gonna buy a set of Gnarlies and try them out. Not that I don't like my PT's but I'm really not happy with the finish on them and I miss my chrome. I'll probably keep them and get some dyno runs with the both for comparison. Just thought I'd let you all know. BTW, anyone know how the top end and bottom end compare on the two? Never ridden a set of Gnarlies. And a little somethin for all you freaks.... Quote
NYCBanshee7 Posted January 22, 2005 Report Posted January 22, 2005 Why not go with Fatty's or get your PT's chromed? Quote
sredish Posted January 22, 2005 Author Report Posted January 22, 2005 Why not go with Fatty's or get your PT's chromed? 310236[/snapback] I've had Fatties and loved them. Only thing, the PT's have more low end and that's really beneficial in the woods and xc racing I'm involved with. I was hoping to get close to the same amount of low end with the Gnarlies and maybe a tad more top, but dunno. Quote
FIRST BANSHEE Posted January 22, 2005 Report Posted January 22, 2005 I heard the gnarlies only have slightly more topend than a stock pipe. I don't know any one that has them to confirm that. how do you like your port work. Quote

crazyfzr1 Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 I've only ever ridden Gnarlies.. I love em, they have a bunch more power over stock..it's night and day difference. I only rode a banshee with a stock exhaust 3-4 times...guess I'm spoiled Don't know if I'm qualified to talk about the difference due to this. I love the bling factor as well! Quote
richybanshee Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 (edited) I had FMF Gnarlies on my 1996 shee. This pipes produce a lot of bottom end power, top end is almost the same as stock. For woods riding they will work excellent. I think that the difference between Gnarlies and Fatties is just a shift in the power curve. Gnarlies make the power sooner, but also sign off sooner. This pipes are not 100% chrome, like the finish in Toomey pipes, CPI's or others. FMF Gnarlies, timming advanced +4 degrees and CoolHead with 21cc domes (for 1,000 feet or lower) is a nice combination with a lot of bottom end power. If you test both of this pipes, tell us what you foundout. I have heard people swear that PT pipes make more low end power. Want to know if that is true. Edited January 25, 2005 by richybanshee Quote
sredish Posted January 25, 2005 Author Report Posted January 25, 2005 There's a member who is considering letting me pay for the shipping to me so I can try them out and see for sure before I buy a set. If I decide to get a set, I might buy a new set that way I have a pristine set. I also know a few members who would be willing to trade me. We'll see. Like I said before, it's not like I don't like my PT's, there's just a few things that I'm unsure about. Quote
