Minkia38 Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 I have a buddy that wants me to get a motorcycle, and id love to ride with him, so what are your opinions on a 600 ninja? $3000 brand new 2005, from the factory at the dealership - pretty cheap if you ask me! Quote
stclark816 Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 I rode a 600 Ninja about a month ago, it ran real good, but everyone has always told me to stay away from them. I got my 2002 Suzuki gsxr 600 like 3 days ago, and I love it. Call progressive about insurance, they are by far the cheapest place ive ever seen. Quote

Minkia38 Posted January 21, 2005 Author Report Posted January 21, 2005 I didnt price it out he did - just told me tonight when we were all playing poker im sure he said a 600 though, but you'tr ptbably right i bet a 250 is slow.... Quote
Cotton eyed Joe Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 http://www.sportbikez.net/bikepics/medium/1075865626.jpg Buddy of mine got one this last summer. Around $8,000 out the door, and his insurance is through Kawasaki. Its ungodly cheap because they don't require full coverage. I think they figure if you total the bike out, they aint going to get any more money out of you or your next of kin. I'd have one, but the drivers in this state are out of their ever lovin fucking minds. Quote

Kinda look like a simple commuter bike if you were goin to college or something and had a job after school doin stuff. Quote

racer Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 here in oklahoma you can get a motorcycle lisence at 14. the restriction being that the bike's displacment is limited to 250cc. so if i was fourteen and got one of those for my b-day id be fuckin stoked. anyways, thats the reason the 250's are so lame to older people. not sure about the 500's, maybe they are just lazy. Quote
RNBRAD Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 Yea you don't want a 250, they're not even fast 250's either. But they are around 3k new for one. 600's are great bikes, but if your a big boy you may be better suited on a liter class bike. 600's are definitely easier to get insurance on and if you have a bad record, don't plan on affording full coverage insurance. My insurance when I first bought my bike in 2000 was 29 dollars a month for full coverage, then it increased to 70. I dropped it and went with liability for 70 a year, so big diff there. Personally, I could live without a banshee , but I have to have a bike. That's just how fun they are. Quote

Ducman Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 For $3K you could pick up a nice about 97'-99' cbr, gsxr, zx6-r, R-6 with about 15k miles. There fun as hell and I probably wouldn't reccomend buying a new one for your first bike anyway. If it turns out crotch rockets are something your really interested in, you date some japanese bikes for a while, and decide you want to stay into bikes, then you can go get married to something Red and Italian, the last bike you'll ever buy. When it's no longer about just going fast and getting crazy and you want a machine that you will never stop appreciating. Quote
joshdagreat56 Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 250 s r still very square not much on looks and very slow we raced a yamaha 426 against one and the yamaha won by a pretty good bit. but we only ran about 1/8 of a mile. off the line it jumped cause u dont have to worry bout pulling them up into a wheelie lol but from second on the yam pulled ahead.
