Schizo,

I agree with what you are saying. In my case I was able to work with the tuner and we got it running good on the dyno and on the sand.

wow you blew it up you didnt have yours for like 2 months before mine what did you do

I was wondering if anyone was going to notice that.

It appears that the porcelain from around one of the spark plugs, broke off and fell into the cylinder at around 10,000 RPM.

Here is what that looks like.

Looks like it got hot.. sure the tip didnt' melt off while the piston was melting also...kinda of hard to tell which is the culprit.

The picture does not do it justice. It looks like it got hot, but, what you are seeing is smashed aluminum around the edge of the piston.

You are right; it is hard to tell what went first. The temp was good and the engine had 20+ gallons of fuel run through it. I was running fast (about 10,000rpm) and it just went. There was no damage to the spark plug, except that the porcelain was gone.

One more thing, it was about 2:00 in the afternoon when this happened. The night before (around 9:00) the engine was

Shit happens. I just chalk it up as another learning experience.

Yes, I am going to have to bore it again. I think I will be close to the last bore now. Next time I will be going for the big bore kit :)

Redlined, sounds to me that you had a plugged main jet and was running out of fuel at high rpms on that one side. Once the aluminum on the piston started to melt and fly around, then a piece hit the porcelain..No way a little piece would have done that much damage. Possible, but not that much dinging....Most of the time the piece will hit once or a few times then exit the exhaust or stick to the piston. Yours looks like multiple pieces, then bound the piston and broke the side off...of course, this is just speculation, but I'd make sure your carbs are clean and do a leakdown test when you put it back together.. better to be safe, then sorry.

Besides, nothing last forever, and the sooner I get to the end of the cylinders life, the sooner I get to try something new, like Power Valves. ;)
