stclark816 Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 You should talk to Jim about special cut domes for ur stroker.. Ive heard many times that the spacer plate reduces the potential of your engine and that specail cut domes is the way to go. I may be totally wrong, but you should talk to Jim about it, Im sure he can guide you in the right direction. Quote
wesw Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 i did about the same as you. i put a whole complete hinson clutch system in i broke the inner hub and is like hey why not buy the whole system. ask jim. the pressure plate rubbed against the casing adn would actually kill the engine. basically it was a major pain the ass for 700 bucks Quote

boonman Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 Suspension is next in line I hope. With that power, you're gona need it. The plate and cut domes for a stroker is long been debated. Every builder has their preference. And you will have yours soon.. Quote
Ryda85 Posted January 8, 2005 Author Report Posted January 8, 2005 is there anything else i should do while im at it....nothing tooo expensive..already have a grease fitting in the swinger and carrier....oo and an automotive temp guage waitin to go in Quote
RNBRAD Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 Whatever you may want to chrome or polish, do it now if your looking to do it. Otherwise save for a swinger and suspension mods. Quote
rebelbanshee2 Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 you best get enough money for suspension soon! you are barely going to be able to keep it in a straight line....no worries with the spacer plate, Ive had no trouble with mine. Quote

You can get stroker domes too if you want. Stroker domes = less gaskets, compression happens above the matting surface Spacer plate= easy, no speacial domes to buy, and a good builder can add more transfer volume for the much needed banshee cylinders. Ryda85 Posted January 8, 2005 Author Report Posted January 8, 2005 i also had the swinger, frame, hubs, and steering stem powdercoated....i guess ill just hold off for now and get some suspension. maybe a set of yfz shocks for now...only like 200 and you guys seem to like them Quote
Redlined Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 (edited) sweet...are you running he plate? maybe when i wanna get some more power ill opt for some 18cc or 17cc domes and get them cut...for now im sure they'll be fine 303611[/snapback] Yes, I run the spacer Plate. Once you have your cylinders ported with the spacer plate, you can not go to the cut domes. The port timing will not match. Don Edited January 9, 2005 by Redlined Quote

I have the Hinson basket but the inner hub and pressure plate are still stock, no problems here yet................. Quote
