I just bought a new bike..i am taking some parts off my old Banshee to put on the new Banshee. The new Banshee has Toomey T5s on it. They are not chrome.(steel)..I want to trade them in for chrome toomeys...i am wrestling with T5s or T6s? the new bike has no engine work done to it..stock as can be..but i am pulling the Trinity single carb kit off the old bike to put on the new...

any input on T6s and T5s? the old Banshee has engine mods..but im hoping to keep the new Banshee stock...except for the single carb. can I get any advice?

also..both Banshees have the external air filters..how hard is it to go back to the airbox? i live in colorado and ride wet tracks and wet trails alot of the year..the externals havent worked out too well in this situation.

advice is apprecitated :)

thanks!!!!!!!!!!

Personally I would keep the T5's, they will benefit later mods, if you so choose, better than the T6's. If you want chrome, take them to a chrome shop and get them plated. As for your airbox, yes it's easy to go back to stock and you might PM NYUK and see if he has the airbox and possibly an adapter boot for your single carb. If not, check e-bay, generally you will find the air boxes with a filter adapter ring already installed and maybe a filter if your lucky.

if you plan on porting...definitly keep the t5's....and there is no excuse not to get those cylenders ported with some builders doing them as low as 200 for the pair (Gorr)

A possible alternative to re-installing the stock air box might be using the toomy 2 into 1 air filter, $50 I think. Might even save a couple $ too. Are you running K&N pods or foam pods like UNI's. I'm running foam pods and I have blasted through some mud puddles without any ill effects. They'll only set you back about $15.

If your keeping the motor fairly stock or even a mild or cleanup port I'd go with T-6's. If I was going to mx I'd probably get PTR mids or FMF's but I'm guessing you probably want to trade in the T-5's to get the discount from Toomy.

Well look what the cat drug in.... :P

I'd go to a Toomey 2:1 kit, it'll breathe much better than going back to stock, but still give you what you want.

Also, I'd stay with the T5's myself. The T6's aren't too bad on a stock bike, but if you decide to port later, then you'll be limited, and I don't personally think the T6s are any better than T5s on a stock machine either, but I'm on not too sure.

I just bought a set of chrome T5's as well, and I'll be looking forward to trying them out. That's not a bad idea on just keeping them and getting them chromed. Shouldn't cost you too much and you'd probably be money ahead.

Well how's everything else going? Hope all is well.

Later.

I love my T-6 pipes, I have only bolt on mods and they work great. I like them better then my fmf's, I never ran T-5s to compare.you'll need the air box and adaptor from trinity, simple swap. If you run no top outerwear makes a lid cover to keep the crap out.

I do know that what ever pipe you chose just make sure your tune is near perfect, mine runs away from bikes that should beat me... :bolt:
