hey guys just wondering what is a good type of race fuel to run. when the shee is all back up and running it will have a noss head with 19cc domes...

im at sea level.

i was just wondering what octane should i run and if i am already running race gas should i opt for 18 or 17cc domes?

is there a chart around here that shows the octane needed for dome sizes at sea level?

also is there a place to order gas online? or can they not ship it? thanks guys

Depends on what other mods you have and a if you have porting, but on stock ports I'm gonna say with 19cc you could use 100 octane or mix 110 race 50% with premium pump gas. 18cc probably straight 110 17cc domes are probably smaller than you want to go unless you have major porting done and are low on compression due to a really high exhaust port. Too high of compression will start to hurt the top end performance.

Here is what I would recommend. Go to your local air field and purchase the 100LL fuel. It will work great with your 19cc domes and is selling for under $3.00 right now. Smells great too.

If your gonna spend the dough, might as well get some good out of it. Go with oxygenated fuel. I get 5 gallon metal containers filled with Sunoco 104 for $6 a gallon. Best shit in the world. The power increase is noticeable when using fuel with oxygen and fuel without.

I'm sure you can find oxygenated, just look around. Depending on your compression, 104 might be tight. With 19s it should be fine, but probably not for 18s.

Later, and good luck.

I had 185-190 psi,and I ran Sunoco 110 leaded race gas,mixed 50:1 with Motul factory line 800 pre -mix.

I also use sunoco purple, though I think I will give their oxygenated fuel a try. They have too many to choose from though so not sure which to go with just yet.

Luckily my dad works for a petroleum company so I get all my race gas at cost. It's still freakin high even at cost. I think last time I filled the jug up it was 3 dollars a gallon. I hate to see what the oxygenated fuel is gonna cost.

What compression are you running? I'm not that high, I run 155 psi or so with +7 timing.

If you can deal with 104, then get the GT Plus unleaded. It's 104 with 4.5% oxy. Like liquid crack. Like I mentioned before, I pay $30 for a 5 gallon metal container filled.

Here's a link...... Sunoco Race Fuels
