I've seen alot about painting frames, but what about the plastics? what paint does one use? Also what prep work needs to be done. I want to paint my 04 Shee.

Thanks,

painting the fenders is a bad idea unless your riding only dunes or its a show bike.whenever the fender might bend a little the paint will crack right off.

Thanks for the link. Now I just have to figure out what color to paint it :shrugani:

I'm getting ready to order a Powder Coating system, to bad it won't work on plastic.

I pretty much stay on the Dunes. Not many places to trail ride, and if I do trail ride I use my wifes Yamaha Bruin. It's nice to have both

not true. the paint will not chip right off. If properly prepped, the plastics will break before the paint will chip. flex additive is definitely one of the keys to the paint. Myne will be done in a week or so. I'll post some pics up when i'm done.

my main warning is DO IT RIGHT spray can ain't gonna cut it.

i rolled a painted shee 3 times and the paint didn't come off. plastics were fucked and bent to shit, but the paint never came off.

I don't think I'd try to tackle the back plastic, but I bought some used race cut fronts, sanded, primered and painted them and they are holding up nicely.. My only suggestions is if you want to do a good job... take your time and do it right.
