Thanks for reading this:

I recently fried my clutch out at the dunes , it was a barnett unit with a hinson basket, it was set up at the engine builders shop. Anyway, I have done a few clutch replacements on my dirtbikes with no problems , figure why not on the quad.

So I ordered an EBC kevlar clutch and a hinson pressure plate. I noticed the ebc kit has one more plate than the barnett unit before installing.

Well the new clutch is in and adjusted to the service manual but the performance is about the same with a lot of slipping mid to top.

I am wondering if the extra plate in the ebc unit will throw the alignment marks to addjust the clutch free play off?

Any help would be great , otherwise , its back to the shop after 3 dune trips.

thanks again guys

did you adjust the clutch rod first and then the cable. are all the factory cushion rings removed, did you soak your frictions before you installed them. is your basket in good shape?

can't think of any thing else right now. :bolt:

took the slack out at the lever , then adjusted the screw with the locknut on the clutch to alignment marks, cushions are removed, less than 5 hours on new hinson basket , and the plates were soaked in oil prior to installing

Maybe I miss understood you. Your suppose to adjust the cable all the way in at the perch. Then press the clutch arm towards the carbs and draw it to the case arrow using the screw an nut. Then take the slack out of the lever.Good luck
