Doodle Posted November 15, 2004 Report Posted November 15, 2004 I recently rejetted my bike set up with FMF SST pipes and when I removed the slide/needle from the right carb it hit the ground and bent the end of the needle. I tried to straighten it out as best I could but it was still jacked up. Since I wanted to ride I just put the shit back together and fired it up. So far it seems to run allright, but I really ought to probably get a new needle. Anyone know where to get some cheap OEM needles? Also, would having a jacked up needle cause the right side pipe to smoke less than the left? Quote
sredish Posted November 15, 2004 Report Posted November 15, 2004 If one needle is bent or not working properly in one carb, it could affect the perfomance in the one cylinder and possibly cause a situation like your describing. I get all my carb jets and needles from CarbParts.com Quote
Doodle Posted November 15, 2004 Author Report Posted November 15, 2004 Is there a certain size you have to get? I looked on their website and couldn't find where to get the needles. First off, you need to pull the needle(s) in question and look just below the clip area and above the taper, you'll see some numbers stamped there. Then, get the phone number off of the CarbParts.com site and call them and discuss what your looking for. If you want the same, just give them the digits off of the needle, if you want something richer, leaner or different, just tell them and they can advise you. Needles can be really confusing, so it's best to talk to someone directly and have them help you. Quote
23champ Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 If your running stock carbs, your best bet would be to just buy a set of Dyno Jet needles. The difference is nite and day Quote

The difference is nite and day 282472[/snapback] "Dynojet" needles are Blaster needles. Some quads run great with them, others run like crap and won't straighten out till they go back to stock. Only one way to find out. Quote
