badlarry Posted November 9, 2004 Report Posted November 9, 2004 My she had a melt down after a total rebuild, crank, seals, top end etc. melted a right side piston and burned the hook off the plug. I had the top end done w/ wiseco prolites and reassembles w/ 3 bond and let it sit for week prior to starting it. I started it and it ran o.k. I test rode it and it did'nt pull too hard after third gear. I ulled a plug and it is burned off at the hook again. It has new manifolds, carb boots, gasket sealer every where. I don't think it has an air leak. I need a good reliable shop in Mass or N.H. to do a leak down test as well as a dyno run while adjusting jets. I have a L/E yfz 450 that I ride now but can't sell the shee. I need it to run right, I can't just burn down another set of f$ing pistons again, I need it fixed right and don't trust any dealerships. HELP PLEASE Jimmy K. Quote
sweetshee4312 Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 are you doing the proper break in..... as meat once said "HEAT CYCLES DAMNIT" Also maybe your really lean on your jets, put them richer, put them way rich.... Your useing the right sprak plugs right, and you can make your own leak down tester Quote
