bansheetimes2 Posted October 12, 2004 Report Posted October 12, 2004 Well decided to take yesterday and put it to good use. Had the day off from work(Columbus day) and rather than pay $300,$400,$500 for a dealership to replace the bearings, bushings, seals, I decided to do it myself. Started at about 9:00am, had everything apart and the old bearings out by 11:30am, called for the parts and by 12:30pm had all necessary parts plus a grease zerk to be installed in the axle housing. By 3:00pm had grease zerk, bearings, oil seals and swingarm back on. Everything put back together and riding it around by 4:00pm. Had times when I was thinking it would've been better to have a dealership do it, but now that its done, I am glad I took the time to do it myself. Therefore, if anyone has questions or needs tips/info for replacing the axle and/or swingarm bearings feel free to ask. I'll try to answer any questions you might have to make it easier for you.
