Well guys, I have a question for ya. Elka makes a new dune edition shock and I was just wonderin if I should get them with or without the rezzys. I am no pro rider by any means but I do ride the bike pretty hard. I pretty much only ride dunes so I know this is the shock that would work best for me. I dont know if it matters but I weigh 241 pounds and am going to get them for +2+1 a-arms from Quicksand.

If any of you guys have any insight on this matter let me know if I would even be able to tell a difference between the two not being a pro rider and all.

rezzies are radiators for your shock oil. when the shafts move it creates heat via friction. this heats the shock oil and it loses its viscosity, aka shock fade. rezzies prevent this by allowing more air to pass over a larger amount of oil, thus lowering operating temps. personally id get them. thats just me, but if youre gonna get some good stuff, why not trick it out a little right? how much is that option anyways?

Its a good $450 more for the rezzys. $450 with out and about $900 with the rezzys. So basicly I was just wondering if it will be worth the extra $450. Thats basicly a whole new set of shocks.

If you aren't going to ride really hard through whoops or constantly be jumping you most likely will not need rezzies. If you go to the dunes, drag a few times and sit, ... hit a few jumps for fun and just race your friend you can save that $450. If you ride a lot though you may want the rezzies. I think you can get twice the time between rebuilds because there's more oil and it doesn't get "smoked" as easy. A shock builder will argue this but when I sent my shocks to be rebuilt they said the oil still looked new after 2 yrs of abuse.

Most likely you won't need the rezzies though. On most shocks you can add remote rezzies if you feel you need them.

Holy SHIT! :whoa: id skip em too if they were that proud of them.

you sure you didnt see like preload only adjustability w/o rezzies and then see some with rezzies that were quad rate with full adjustability?
