Welcome to the tax haven of the U.S.A. As for riding areas, the best ain't near Milwaukee.

You can find some trails in the southwest corner between Monroe and Mineral Point. Very flat rail bed, dnr looking for speeders now and then, gas stations are no problem. Trails are on public and private land.

The next area is Black River Falls, large variety of trails, lots of lodging at different costs, gas is a little harder to find, but there are hundreds of miles of trails within Jackson and Clark counties, good parking areas with ramps to load into back of truck if need be. Most trails are on public land.

Another area is up north of Crivitz. Haven't seen much of this area(about 1/4 of it), but know that gas can be very hard to get.

There are more trails on the northern part of the state, but lots of them are more for 4x4's then banshee's. Unless you can find someone with private property, your SOL. Every now and then I ride on a construction site down in Kenosha without any hassles, but come next spring, that will change as they gear up for thier project. I'd offer to go riding, but will be busy hunting the next few months. What part of Milw are you in?

I live near Sheboygan and I'm always up for meetin new riders. My friend and I race at Gravity Park in Chilton and are always up for new guys to ride with. We both have a shitload of land that we ride on, trails, woods, and we made a jump at his house and I got one at mine. As for tracks to ride: Chilton - Gravity Park, a track in Fond Du Lac - haven't been there yet, but a friend of mine has he says it's awesome, a track in Denmark - haven't been there yet either, but heard good things.

Haven't done any winter racing, but on my old banshee, I had screws in the tires and had a blast riding on lakes, rivers, and ponds. Guys I rode with thought that it was even worse to follow right behind me in winter compared to summer. Easier to ride in winter, most people don't notice the noise, just colder and seem to do a lot of night riding. State trails are closed for snowmobiles, but some localities are working to change that when there is a lack of snow.
