Before I went out riding today, i took off the K&N filter and put some k&n oil filter cleaner on it, cleaned out the airbox, all appeared pretty good. Let it sit for about 15 minutes before putting it back in. Anyways after doing that, I fired it up, and noticed that it was smoking a good bit more than usual. Interesting... So i go out riding and for some reason, there's a heck of a lot more power going on today than usual. The power overall is just a lot more strong, and it seems to be revving up quicker as well. In my opinion, by just spraying on some filter oil and cleaning out the airbox couldnt do this, but if you think otherwise let me know. Now, as i was messing around with my buddies on trails and sand dunes, my buddy said that the bike was smoking out of both pipes a good bit, and this was about an hour into riding. Thats never happened before, im wondering what that could be? when i got off of it and revved it up a little bit watching the pipes, they did smoke just a touch that i could see but nothing serious, but he said when i was climbing up some hills and getting on it that it was, so lets take a look into this. Mixing at 32:1, yamalube. Bike has low hours on it, all stock motor wise. I rode it a few days ago and all was perfect however the weather has changed 30 degree's colder here today, but not sure if that'd make any difference with this. Just hoping its not the rings, its way too early for those to be going out. I'd say it has no more than 45 hours on it. I sure was loving the power on it :D Anyways let me know what you think.

30 degrees cooler will get more air into motor and make bike run leaner so that could account for extra power if you were rich before. My experience with K&N filter lube is that if you apply too much it will just drip off until the correct amount remains so I doubt if lubing filter changed anything. My WAG is that the smoking is normal 2 stroke exhaust that wasn't noticed before. (WAG = wild as_ guess). Play it safe and do a plug check.

Thanks for the response. If the bike was running lean, it wouldnt be making smoke at all would it? I figured if its too rich it'll smoke a lot, if lean, no smoke at all however this is my first 2 stroke so learning as i go with the tricks to it. I will check the plugs on it, but the last time i did the plug was real clean and almost like a dark gray, but i only ran the new plugs for a few minutes to check so may not have even had time to turn but ill certainly check. The bike just runs so nice i was kinda taken back at the difference but hopefully its not a top end necessity. Some folks say that they tend to run harder on top when they're getting due for a top end, however im not so sure about that myself but i learn quick so once i get this down, it'll be good.
