sandgrencivic2k1 Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 Well I finally got to take my newly ported shee out to the sand. I went to Sand mountain in Nevada, and it screams. There is one slight problem. Racing people up the face I can run 4th no problem but want 5th. I can run 5th but its not screamin in the power band. What should I do to get that 5th gear for the face by changing my gears. Here is my set up: dune port and polish v force reeds cool head 19cc domes k&n clamp ons +4 degree timing wiseco pro-lites .020 over toomey t5 20x10x10 9 paddle 14/41 gearing stock swingarm Should I drop all the way to the 13 tooth, or should I add 1 or 2 on the back. I would think 13 would be too low. Any advice would help, 5th gear up the face would be great. Quote
gonzoret Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 am lowering the front sprocket to 13 teeth myself but dont have a chance to try it till holloween at glamis. i saw somewhere that they recomend you use that for dunening. i guess the only way to really find out is for you to try 13, 15 or some other number and see which one you and your shee feels best. try to look at it like when you ride a bicycle with speeds if that helps.
