wesw Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 was wondering what you had to do if anything to run the stock air box with say some 34 mm carbs. i know you need new intakes, but will the carbs fit to the stock box Quote
BdBanshee Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 I used to run my 34mm Keihins with the stock airbox. Just had to make some new rubber hoses that went between the back of the carbs and the airbox. Quote
fixitrod Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 I moved my airbox back. You may need to get creative too. Zip ties and bending the rear tabs back works. Some will say just run pods... and it would be a hell of a lot easier. I keep my airbox and I'm glad I did. Coalfest was a water hole from all the rain. I had a blast in it while most were dodging puddles. Quote
The Rebel Posted July 22, 2004 Report Posted July 22, 2004 Yeah you can use your stock air box, but you need to modify it . More than one company offers the boots to connect the carbs to the box. Or you can go to the hardware store and get some 2in. pipe connectors made of real pliable rubber, these are easier to deal with. I put some 34mm PJs on my bike and had to cut the front slip on mounts off of the air box to be able to slide it on the carbs from the rear. No biggie, use a die grinder and it'll be over before you know it..... Quote
