Exaust leak

Hey guys;

 

I have a 97 Shee with FMF fattys and power core II silencers. I have had minor work done to the moter, specifically .80 over bore, carb jetting and reed spacers. The problem is what appears to be oil shooting out where the exaust meets the motor. I understand all that holds it in place is springs, but am I supposed to see all that oil? i ran it on the rich side for a while, but now I run it at about 44/50 to 1. Im not sure if that means anything. I also heard it mght be because the compression is probably alot more then stock now.

If you are spitting out oil it sure sounds like you are rich. Running at 50:1 doesn't sound rich at all though. I'm at 32:1 and never see oil.

 

How does the bike run? Maybe you aren't getting a good spark and things aren't burning fully.

Put some hot temp gasket silicone (the red one) around the exhaust flange, it will cure your problem.

meat heads got it, and, check the orings inside the pipes, make sure there ok

my cpi's did the same thing. i put new o-rings on them and it fixed it.

with all that, the shee runs great. I do have to clean the plugs if it sits for a while. but oce clean, its starts on the first kick

Buy new o-rings.I had the same problem with my old pipes.Easy fix!
