OK, i did a search and read all i could but no one seemed to have my exact problem. after a recent rebuild only my right side will fire. the left spits and sputters from time to time but not enough to make any power. some say its a fuel problem but when i put my hand by the left pipe to see if hot exhaust is coming out it get this black oily shit all over it. this i took to be oil/gas mixture that wasnt burned. however when i pull the left plug wire off when its running it shocks the hell out of me, so it is getting spark? or could it just be firing for the right side only and when its the lefts turn it gets skipped, is that possible? now it seems like reeds but the are damn near new V-Force 2's. compression is 120 each side, but its ported pretty well so im not worried about that. the flywheel magnets arent loose, the timing plate is a PD one, so its ok, and i replaced the stator with a stock output one back in like Feb. anymore ideas anyone, sorry about the novel but i had to be specific.

what do the plugs look like, sounds like the one is just on the edge of fouling out and sputtering but you still are getting enough spark ot keep it alive. what does the other one look like??

the plugs fire at the same time, not back and forth, so if there is a problem with it skipping then that needs to be addressed. basically need to figure out if it's jetting or electrical, i'd start with jetting first.

Hope this helps.

Later.

the jetting was fine when this b/s started to happen so im pretty much set on electrical. or at least i hope cause im really pretty handy with the electrical crap.

Don't rule out the V-Force's, after a post by, I think astromybud (wonder what happened to him?) where the small screws holding the reeds to the block fell out, I checked mine and found the screws were loose as well.

Might be worth checking.

Like Sredish said, the plugs fire at the same time, so if you swap the leads and the problem remains the same, look somewhere else.

Check that the little screw on tip is tight on your spark plug. These are rarely tight out of the box and must be tightened before installation or it can cause misfires.

Did you leave a rag in the intake that could be blocking the left carb?
