initall Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 I am just putting my motor back together. I noticed during tear down that the primary drive gear ( the gear on the crank with the key). I have part of one tooth missing on the gear. Would it be okay to install like that. or should i grind the remaing part of that tooth of. Or replace the gear. I have asked around and heard different answers. So i have decided to ask the people who know the most about banshees. Please help Thanks. Quote
pimp559 Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 Don't be cheap, buy the part before it causes big problems. The peace of mind is totally worth it. Quote
svtkid78 Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 It is up to you did you take the bike apart to fix it or to put it together broken? While your at it get a straight cut gear. Quote
initall Posted July 8, 2004 Author Report Posted July 8, 2004 where can i get qa straight cut gear from? I am gonna replace the gear. I would hate to take that shortcut. Quote
BdBanshee Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 I would definitely replace the gear. If you want straight cut gears you will also have to replace the one on your clutch basket. Quote
