phreak Posted July 4, 2004 Report Posted July 4, 2004 i was putting my noss head on yesterday and i snapped the first stud while torquing the nut down. i was really surprised because the wrench was set at 10lbs. my first thought was that the wrench was messed up, but i tried torquing the second nut down at 10lbs and had no problem. so this leads me to believe that the first stud was weak. i'm concerned that the same thing could happen with the other studs. are there any stronger aftermarket studs available, or should i just stick with oems? should i just go ahead and replace all ten studs and nuts to be on the safe side? i'm sure it'll be a pain in the ass to replace all ten. but, i'd rather be safe than sorry. DirtRider Posted July 4, 2004 Report Posted July 4, 2004 yes replace all of them, you might as well do it right. you could end up worping the head and then youll be sorry. Quote
