rebelbanshee2 Posted June 19, 2004 Report Posted June 19, 2004 Well I was having some electral problems last week, it would lose spark randomly and break up alittle up top when it ran, and finally after i thought i had it fixed it died on me. I suspected the stator so i took the cover off and a small dismembered screw fell out. Hmm thats probably related to my problem. Then i noticed the nubs on the flywheel were F'd up. Then i saw the magnetic pickup thing held on one screw and all cockeyed (hehe funny word) I took the pickup off and it was trashed. lots of the plastic was gone as was the magnet, it must of gotten punted at over 10k rpm, cuz i was hauling. No wonder it was breaking up at top, i was probably getting timing curves a dyna fs could only dream of! So, I need a new pickup. I also am wondering if the flywheel is junk now that the nubs have been damaged. Ill get a pic up soon so the damage can be assesed. If any one has a pickup let me know. The stator and a bunch of wires are all connected so i fear yamaha selld them as a unit for extreem cost Quote
thecabinboy Posted June 19, 2004 Report Posted June 19, 2004 I got a Ricky Stator pick up I just put on a 200W RS stator to try to fix the same problem as yours (nub meets pickup coil) but my stator is still bad on the top so I'm getting a new one tonight. After 3 months maybe i will have my top end problem fixed. Funny thing is is still starts on the first kick but at high RPMs one cylinder drops out. 20 plus shipping and I'll desolder it. powerman350 Posted June 19, 2004 Report Posted June 19, 2004 I had a stator problem (the flywheel rubbed on two wires and shorted it out) and my rigth cylynder wouuld quit firing when I hit the throotle. i fixed the prob and my top end problem, as well as my lighting prb was fixed. Quote
