Basicorpse Posted May 10, 2004 Report Posted May 10, 2004 I have a problem with my 01 banshee. When I first got it, it was leaking from the shifter seal so I replaced it and everything was fine. Now today about 6 months later it started leaking from the shifter seal again. So today I went and replaced the seal thinking that was the problem. Unfortunately it still leaks from the shifter seal. What could be wrong? I noticed the leak yesterday after a long day of hard riding. I am using belrays gearsaver transmission fluid. Quote
BdBanshee Posted May 11, 2004 Report Posted May 11, 2004 Could be that the seal has worn a groove into the shift shaft, I had one do that. I had to replace the shift shaft to fix the leak. Quote
Basicorpse Posted May 11, 2004 Author Report Posted May 11, 2004 (edited) How hard is it to replace the shift shaft? That is where it is leaking from the inside portion of the seal where it goes around the shifter shaft. Edited May 11, 2004 by Basicorpse Quote
