pashee Posted April 20, 2004 Report Posted April 20, 2004 I let some take my banshee for a ride the other night. Of course they had to do a wheelie and didn't realize the power and went back hard on the wheelie bar and coundn't get it back down. Anyway they bent the back left side of the frame up where it connects to the wheelie bar and also ended up rolling it forwards when it came down and bent my top left a arm. I was planning on just heating up the frame and bending it down. I am just going to replace the a arm. Just wondering if anyone had ideas on the frame so it doesn't loose to much strenght. thanks Quote
banshdog Posted April 20, 2004 Report Posted April 20, 2004 I bent both sides on the back of mine. No matter how you try to fix it, it will be weaker. If you want to heat it, you have to remove all the plastics and wiring, then you will burn the paint on the frame and have to fix that as well. All i did was put a piece of pipe over the end of the frame and gradually put my weight on it. the frame will bend back into place. Quote
banshee04le Posted April 20, 2004 Report Posted April 20, 2004 You don't need to heat it. I tried bending mine back with a pipe and it did not work. The end of the frame tube is smashed flat to bolt to the grab bar and when trying to straighten it with a pipe, all of the force was being applied at the flattened end of the tube and f'ing it up. Try the pipe I guess but if that doesn't work for you, I used a old bumper jack. The frame tube usually bends back to just before the first gusseted section. If you take you rear plastic off and place the jack plate under your swingarm and then drop the bumper jack down through the middle of your swingarm (right in front of your axle) you can set the jack up there to provide support under the frame, all the way back where the bend starts by that gusseted point. Now take a piece of wood and a BMFH (thats a big mother fu@kin hammer) and start beating. I got mine back to where it looks perfect and didn't even scratch the paint. Quote
