bansheelover Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 i was just wondering because im deciding to get a +4 stroked long rod and i need to know if i feel confident enough to split the cases and put this thing in myself. Just how big of a job is this?? how long did it take most of you guyson your first time splitting them? Just curious thanks Matt Quote
bigwill Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 Get the clymers manuel,it is very easy, cases split top and bottom, just make sure you remove the small arm behind clutch before you pull them apart-the arm breaks easy if you attempt to seperate before removing this little arm. Quote
vmaxup Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 Not a big deal I now assemble a Banshee motor and insatall and running in 2 1/4 I time myself just to kmow if I could do it in a pinch. Ya get the clmers manual. Dont worry no big deal nothing comes flying out when you split them. The gears stay in there end of the motor they just sit there and dont bother you at all. Get Yamabond and some new seals and your set also get a torque wrench for the case halfs Quote
