stroked427 Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 I see alot of +4, or +5 timing advancing for mods for banshees on this site, what is the benifit of advancing the timing? does it help low end but take away high end torque? would a +4 help me with these mods....it has the usaul mods like fmf fattys, v-force reeds,k&n filter snorkel removed , cool head with 21cc domes and im getting 151 psi cranking compression with them at my elevation... jetting dead on... Thanks guys.... Quote
rebelbanshee2 Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 advanving the timing gives more power over pretty much the whole powerband. I recommend the ricky stator timing plat. its only $35 and wont wont have the change of breaking like the timing keys can Quote

rebelbanshee2 Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 Ricky Stator. Im guessing Rickystator.com would be his website Quote
doltz Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 Revs higher through the powerband increasing peak HP's. You can tell the difference when ran next to a like machine without the advance. I also reccomend lightening your flywheel to compliment the timing advance.Quick fast revs almost mimick that of a crisp 125 dirtbike. Quote
FoxBansheeRacing Posted March 26, 2004 Report Posted March 26, 2004 With my mods right now I am running borderline of needing to mix race gas. If I advanced timing would I have to start mixing 1/2 racing gas? Quote

Your pretty darn close right now if you are running near sea level, so definitely would need to mix 1/2 & 1/2 I'd say. Quote

There're a few guys out here running near the same set-up as you and +4.Their running 93, with no problems yet.....I'm going to try the same at +4 and 150 PSI. Quote
