svtkid78 Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 BROKE MY KEY AND DON'T HAVE A SCHEMATIC ON ME. WHAT WIRES HAVE TO BE SPLICED TOGETHER. Quote
ranshee Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 I think you can just unplug the cable. Quote
DIRTBIKEZ Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 From the schematic it looks like you need to short the Black wire with the Red/Black wire. Quote
holeshotkid Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 I think you can just unplug the cable. Actually, unplugging the key switch won't let it fire. You can just tie all four wires together to complete the circuit since two of the wires aren't used anyway. Quote
ranshee Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 I think but not 100 % shure, if bike was left on and you unplug the cable it should fire up. But it would be better to tie em up, then you can clean up some clutter. Quote
SICK BOY Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 Ranshee once you unplug it no matter what position the key is in the circuit would be broke. You have to tie them in together. Quote
ledofthezep Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 Ranshee once you unplug it no matter what position the key is in the circuit would be broke. You have to tie them in together. Affirmative. Quote

svtkid78 Posted March 16, 2004 Author Report Posted March 16, 2004 thanks guys i'll just soder them all together. Quote
Wallrat Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 If you still want some security but don't wanna mess with a key then you can pick up a switch at any automotive place for a few bucks. Splice that in and zip tie it somewhere easy to reach, but not easy to find. I've got this setup and feel a whole lot better about leaving my shee out. Quote
Blacksmith Posted March 17, 2004 Report Posted March 17, 2004 If you undo the plug in the harness that connects the switch you will see that there are two wires that connect the plug to the harness. Use as short section of solid core wire to jumper the two pins in the harness plug in. This will allow the bike to start. Don't worry about the 4 wires in the switch assy. Only two of them are used anyway. Quote
