champ6966 Posted March 7, 2004 Report Posted March 7, 2004 well keeps working loose anyways the best way i can explain this is... ya know the round allumn i guess nut like thing that apears to hold the rear sprocket tight and maybe break disk or maybe holding whole axel together for all i understand about it it has a small hole it it and an allen head screw but i cant seem to keep it tight or get it tight enouff? do i need a special tool or is it maybe wore out? id hate to use a pipe wrench but shee needs to hold together is that what reall holds everything tight or am i overlooking something? MotulMonsta Posted March 7, 2004 Report Posted March 7, 2004 THat sounds like a lonestar nut. It's not stock. If it keeps coming loose, back the nut all the way off, clean the threads of all grease, put a little red locktight on it then put the nut back on and tighten the shit out of that nut and pinch bolt. They should have made reverse threads on that axle to keep it tight. But they didn't and everytime you gas it, the slop in the splines will allow the sprocket hup to move fwd a bit..little by little undo the nut. Quote
champ6966 Posted March 7, 2004 Author Report Posted March 7, 2004 any sugestions on tool to grip it ?whats usually there stock? thx for ur reply i was kinda confused about whole thing champ6966 Quote
champ6966 Posted March 7, 2004 Author Report Posted March 7, 2004 anyone know does this nut hold brake disk tight too or is it the nut at the hub? thx champ6966 Quote
vmaxup Posted March 7, 2004 Report Posted March 7, 2004 the nut holds it all together.. It must be tight stock is two nuts first one holds it tight and the other is a jamb nut. I wrap the whole thing with duct tape after its tight. I dont really like the lonestar nut. But i think you have to use it if you have a lonestar axle. I tried putting a regular set of nuts on a lonestar for a rapter. It wouldnt thread on. so i put one the nut you have. The one i had looked like the threads were all worn out so put some lock tight on the threads and on the allen bolt also Quote
champ6966 Posted March 7, 2004 Author Report Posted March 7, 2004 thx i cleaned threads locktite and said fuk it wraped towl around it and used good old pipe wrench and it actually didnt hurt it too bad im goin ridin in few mins when good and dry itll hold this time if it ever did THX AGAIN for good adv champ6966 Quote
