Should I run 290 in the mains? Toomy included a jet kit with this but I wan to to get some feedback from you guys. I have an 04 banshee (3 tanks New). I'm Putting a 21cc Noss head, V-force Reed kit, And T-5's. I'm in NH and I'm 200 ft above sea level. Also should I change the pilots or will it be ok? Thanks to all that can help. :D

If your running the stock air filter with the lid on 290 is probably correct for your elev. with no other air flow mods. It could be too cold for those mains though. You'll have to do a plug chop to check the jetting. You'll most likely need to go 1 or 2 pilot sizes higher. If it runs better the more you turn the air screw in and you get to within 1/2 turn out go to the next size larger pilot. With the reeds, you may also want to raise the needle one position, move the clip to the 4th clip from the blunt end.

With my below mods at 600 feet last summer, I was running 310s in the main and 27.5 pilot with the lid off, well actually the back 3 inches of the lid removed, thanks to Banchetta's advice. Remember the summer is leaner than the winter so I'd say you might be a little lean, but I'm no expert.

Ducmans got it right regarding the needle. One thing you'll always hear from me is to check the needle. A lot of people forget about it and it will create a "dead spot" in the carb, somewhere between 1/4 and 3/4 throttle. With your mods and elevation, i'd most definitely be in the 4th clip, maybe the 5th. Doesn't hurt to try and it's an easy adjustment, just remember it will richen your pilot a touch and your main a touch, maybe half a size per clip movement.

First thing to do is change/verify the needle postion, then check the main jet on a plug test, and then dial in the pilot. You'll need to go up on the pilot at least one size, and I believe you'll need to go up on the main.

Ok what should I do first? I do have the stock air box with the filter (foam) provided by toomey. They provide vents also. It's 50's for temp now. Let me know what I should do to get it up and running.

Well, check your needle and put it in the 4th clip.

Then throw in a 310 or 320 main jet and run a wide-open-throttle test and read the plugs. Check the BansheeHQ FAQ Jetting page for more info on that. Then when you get a nice dark plug, dial in the pilot jet for performance and idle.

No, summer will make the bike run richer. Hotter air means less air.

Winter the bike will lean out because the air cools down and becomes dense. You have to jet up during the winter and jet down during the summer.

Or just jet for the winter and leave it for the summer.

Where do I get a 27.5 Pilot Jet? Dealer told me they anly sell stock 25?

Your dealer can get them, that's where I got mine when I bought them. Hell, they probably even have one laying around.
