Shock Extension

wondering if there is any way to extend my rear stock shock a few inches. Are there shocks out there that fit a banshee but are a few inches taller that can be used??? any tips will help. thanks

Just curious...why would you want to do that?

yeah what he said, im wondering the same thing, are you looking for more travel?

I added an 8 over swing arm and the way the shock is attached makes the rear end sit way too low. I could cut the tabs that the shock linkage it bolted to and put them higher but the arm is chromed and didn't want to do that. I was just going to extend the shock to, yes, give it more travel. When I sit on the bike the plastics are about 6 inches off the wheels and I'm not going to strictly drag. If I was this would be the perfect setup but I'm still going to ride dunes. Are there any other tricks that could give the bike more travel with this set up without extending the shock?

Sounds like you need your shock revalved and resprung for the

new swingarm setup. Yank it off and send it to someone like TCS,

they could get you set up just right for less than $200.

call like mp racing, im sure they make some type of brackets out there for this type of application

You need a stiffer rate rear shock spring. The increase in swing arm length changed the motion ratio of the rear suspension, thus reducing the effective wheel rate. An increased rate rear spring, and rear shock re-valve will cure your problem.
