superchicken Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 does anyone know the proper gap for the pick up coil? i read in another post it should be around .36mm witch i set it to,but after riding today i checked it after having some hot start problems.had to push start it 3 times, the gap was.59mm.either it loosened up on me or the metal just expanded that much.thanx Quote
BdBanshee Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 Yamaha Manual says .020", I always set them at .030". They will spark and start just as easily at .050". I don't know why the gap would change, BTW I use blue locktite on those two small screws that hold it on. Quote

I guess it doesn't really matter as much as I thought. Quote
