280z Posted February 3, 2004 Report Posted February 3, 2004 Hey folks, I'm actually not a Banshee owner (although I wish I was). I'm a member of a college Mini Baja SAE team. We build a small one seater car that races off road. So naturally, we end up using a lot of ATV componentry - brakes, wheels, shocks. And what I'm here about is the shocks. What is the diameter (outside of springs) and length of the front shocks on a Banshee? I think length is somewhat adjustable, so just a ballpark figure or a range would be fine. I want to use these shocks on the SAE car, but I am afraid they might be too big. Also, if anyone knows of a good source to buy some cheaply, let me know. Thanks Very Much, Peter Quote
JKJK Posted February 4, 2004 Report Posted February 4, 2004 on stock front banshee shocks the spring is aprox 2.5in diameter+14.5in to centers of mount points with no load on them.they are not ride hight adjustable, but they do have 4 preload settings.check out ebay, shocks off the newer sport quads are generally about 2 in longer+much better all around. 280z Posted February 5, 2004 Author Report Posted February 5, 2004 Damn... that's the length I need but they need to be 2 in diameter or less to not interfere with the suspension. Do you know of any aftermarket suppliers I could look at? Quote
