FORMULASPEED Posted January 17, 2004 Author Report Posted January 17, 2004 The page would still be viewable if it was legit. It wouldnt be deleted out of existance. my thoughts Quote
dnhyoung Posted January 18, 2004 Report Posted January 18, 2004 I just had a buddy that was burned for a $500.00 deposit. They had a new yamaha for around $4000, all he had to do was put down a $500 deposit, and pay the rest when the quad showed up at his local airport. Unfortunately after 2 months it never showed. and there e-mail never did work. If i remember it was being shipped from Italy. Personally, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!!!! Quote
bkabina Posted January 18, 2004 Report Posted January 18, 2004 I never said it was legit it just said it was real post. Quote
01bansheefox Posted January 18, 2004 Report Posted January 18, 2004 Some good posts are true I think......... I bought my 2001 off ebay for $3,000 Nothing wrong and in excellent condition. $3,000 was the Buy Now option also, I didnt feel like waiting aroud bidding. Who knows could of gotten it less. But yes watch out for those scammers. Quote
2001 929 Posted January 18, 2004 Report Posted January 18, 2004 ya, but i bet you didnt get it from Italy either, i had a buddy burned for $2500, guess what, it was in Italy. just like he said before, if it sounds to good, its probably not true. Quote
kotin6 Posted January 24, 2004 Report Posted January 24, 2004 Guess what there are banshees in Italy. How do I know? I have a banshee and I live about 10 min from the leaning tower of Pisa. I am stationed here with the US Air Force. So dont discredit it JUST beacouse of it being from Italy. But if they say they can get it through customs with no fee beacouse its a gift they are lieing. If they say free shipping its bullshit. Its about 2 gs to send one. Noone is going to pick up 2gs worth of shipping after selling a quad for 3gs. The one cool thing about haveing a banshee in Italy is I have a lisence plate. I can ride any damn where I want. Here are some pics. http://photos.yahoo.com/kotin6 Quote
erbilabuc Posted January 24, 2004 Report Posted January 24, 2004 99.99999999999999999999% of auctions that say they are from Italy are scams Quote
Ducman Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 When I first was looking for a Banshee I thought I would look for a real "steal" of a deal. I came across 3 scams on ATV Trader.com One of the guys wanted me to Wetern Union money to Italy. I consulted Western Union and found that if you wire money and put it in someone elses name that even if you don't give the recipient the info or the money transaction #, once the deposit clears, they can just use their I'd to get the money and your screwed! There are plenty of legit online escrow services out there and if the seller doesnt agree to an escrow service then they are full of it! Also, if you say that you live nearby and want to see it (even though you don't) and they can't show it to you, assume it is BS. I aventually said screw it and bought a new one cause all of the used shees that were any good were at least $4500. Quote
