roostin77
i know its a bit of a newbie question. But the tors removal kits you can buy...how hard are they to install? Like whats all involved? How much electrical mess does it eliminate? Any help would be appreciated.
spoin39
Not much electrical, just the wires on the stock carb tops, but you do have to drill a hole in the sides of the carbs for the idle screw. It's not bad and they give you directions on how to do it. I did mine a couple of years ago and am very happy with it. Makes it easy to take off to adjust jetting and looks much cleaner. Pay attention to the instructions carefully and you will be fine.
Skiddz
Piece of cake. I put a twist throttle on mine when I removed the TORS crap. Came with a new cable, adjuster screws for the carb caps, a thread tap and 2 idle screws with locking nuts. Removing the TORS was as simple as unplugging them from the wiring harness, disconnecting the carb tops from the TORS and tossing it in the garbage can. The only "hard" part is drilling the carb body for the new idle screws. If you can hold a drill steady and drive a screw, it's a piece of cake. Syncing and adjusting the carbs is up to you.
