Justintoxicated Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 I would get the 450. Or even a z400 before I bought a rapturd. I have not ridden the raptur, only with them, they seem tipsy...the 400 isnt bad, but the 450 would be really really nice Quote
tsuther78 Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 I do have to say something about the KFX700. I have not seen or heard anything good about those. I talked to a dealer and he told me it would do 60MPH backwards. I told him that if he could prove it I would buy it in a heartbeat. I went out with him on the Banshee and he could not keep up for anything. Don't go with the KFX700. Raptors are not that bad once you do a little work to them. But they are way to top heavy. I found that out at the dunes last weekend on my buddies. Go with the 450 if you want a 4 stroke. Or hold out for the Honda. Quote
thethrillofspeed Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 I don't know what type of trails you have, but around here we have lots of rocks. A 4x4 quad sure is nice on the rocks (incredible ride and ground clearance). Definatly not fast, but much better than my Raptor on the trails around here and my Shee only sees the sand. Quote
2004LEBanshee Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 mine doesn't do that...... the clutch is easier to user on the raptor i think.....and the thumb throttle is easier too.. The thumb throttle is easier for the Raptor cause you are not moving 2 carbs. I went to the twist throttle cause I got sick of having to ice my hand after a day of riding. A raptor has 2 carbs. Quote
sandman121383 Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 i kno the raptor has a dual carb setup my bros bike is a gas HOG. but the engine wants 2 stall when the clutch is pulled in if the throttle isn't touched every other second.anyone kno why? Quote
2004LEBanshee Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 I would say jetting or a clogged air filter because my friends runs great. No need to touch the throttle. Quote
sandman121383 Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 the filter is clean, could it be jetting? thats what i was thikni but thats the only prob with it. it runs great and doesn't cut out or have any weak spots no matter where the throttle is Quote
