Chemical Castration Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 I was trying to download WinMX last night and I got this funky file that didnt work it would just take me to a web site when I would try to open it. In the web site my firewall went crazy telling me that the web site was using a malicious script. Now my browser is fucked up, I cant close pop up windows im getting weird ass errors all the time and my browser has to shut down, my "delete" and "tab" button doesnt work in the browser, and I cant play alot of streaming video. I already did a virus scan, cleaned my temp. internet files and cookies, and did the one button check up with Norton. I dont know wtf is wrong. Please help! Ohyeah I'm using Internet Explorer 6 Quote

Justintoxicated Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 virus scan isn't 100% but try running a couple of those programs to remove addware, theres probably still something on there that it isn't detecting as a virus or trojan, could be something you accidentaly installed when you launched that exe. Also make sure you reset your homepage to google, or BHQ or whatever. Quote

Anyway it said that like 1/4 to like 1/2 of my pc was infected bad!so i cleaned the infected programs and my pc has been fine ever since. Try a virusscan first. Quote

When I would press the clen button it would take me to its homepage saying I could own it for 40 bucks I'm using Windows 98 it's a piece of crap and I desperately need something better for this computer.
