dirtbike77 Posted December 14, 2003 Report Posted December 14, 2003 just rebuilt the engine on my banshee.. i put a new crank, cylinder, pistin ad rings, gaskets.. the bike fired up first kick ran for a while and shut off.. check everything and found that the flywheel key had shed... so i placed a new key in it the bike fired up and ran.. now all of sudden the bike wont crank by kick starting it.. sometimes it sound like its gonna crank but it doesnt? but whe n i go to push start it itll run sometimes itll backfire when i go to kick it in gearbut itll run sometimes it wouldnt? now when it does run it kinda misses at high rpm's. i checked for spark its firing but it not a fat blue spark like the book says? could the key be sheded again? it has t-5 pipes and silencers, jetted carbs.. ported and polished cylinders. stock intake.? boonman Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 Was the keyway in the crank screwed up? It sounds as though it is out of time. Too much advance, or retared to much? Did you tighten the flywheel to proper spec? Quote
