02bansheerider Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 hey guys... friday we got a good amount of snow and i decide to take my ol blaster out for a spin (the banshee doesnt go very far in the snow with bald stock tires). After about 5 minutes of riding i felt it start to sputter and back fire a little bit and then a couple minutes later it started doing it really bad at once and shut off... I tried to start it back up and no luck.. a couple minutes later it started up but did the same thing (backfired real bad) and shut off again.. I changed the plug, put in fresh gas, put on old carb, and checked reeds for cracks or any imperfection.. everything there is fine.. It will still start and backfire and shut off, Im thinking maybe the timing key broke?.. anyone have any ideas? thanks Quote
boonman Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 Water in the fuel? What is the compression at? Did you change the jetting for the colder weather? You could have blown the top end... Pull the stator cover off, and check the keyway... Pickup coil could be out of spec, loose connection, dirty ground, it could be alot of things... Quote
