Timmy s Posted March 28, 2018 Report Posted March 28, 2018 the center nut that holds the clutch together backed out even though i had the tab on the washer folded up and it was torqued down. does anyone know what could have caused it so that it doesn't happen again Quote
Ayesully810 Posted March 28, 2018 Report Posted March 28, 2018 what spec was it torqued down to? and you said the tab was folded up? it should be folded down on the nut at 60lb of torque. are your threads on your tranny shaft bad? Quote
JUSTWANNARACE Posted March 28, 2018 Report Posted March 28, 2018 Most likely the lock washer wasn't installed properly. Or the tab on the back broke from over torqing. Also a good habit to pit oil on both sides of the lock washer before installing Quote
Timmy s Posted March 29, 2018 Author Report Posted March 29, 2018 The lock washer was folded against the nut but i am not sure if it was tourqed to spec I just hammered it down with my impact Quote
JUSTWANNARACE Posted March 29, 2018 Report Posted March 29, 2018 When you take it off look at the tab in the rear of the lock washer. Is it sheared off or bent. See that quit a bit with the guys that just "hit it real quick with an impact".. and like I said oil or grease goes a long way when installing that washer Quote
Timmy s Posted March 29, 2018 Author Report Posted March 29, 2018 its a brand new lock washer, im wondering if runnin hard and fast at waynoka all day is what did it Quote
