Derpy Drifter Posted November 26, 2016 Report Posted November 26, 2016 My banshee didn't come with a key and it was previously bypassed so it would still run. I got a new key and ignition switch but I'm having trouble figuring out how to undo the by pass? The switch that was on the quad has a 4 wire square plug and my new one has a 2 wire? It's a Yamaha unit so I'd believe it's correct. Also my quad has 4 unused female plugs right now that someone had electrical taped up. 3 two wires and one 3 wire triangle plug, all female. Quote
Derpy Drifter Posted November 26, 2016 Author Report Posted November 26, 2016 UPDATE: I have to have the old ignition switch plugged in to start the quad. The colors on the old switch don't match the harness plug or wiring diagram, one wire is a different color and 2 are in the wrong position in the plug. Also, there's a plain red wire, black, and b/w all spliced together. Quote
sleeper06 Posted November 26, 2016 Report Posted November 26, 2016 Red n blk go to key. Blk n blk/wht go to tether if u have one . Would be nice to see a pic of what u got , over the years people hacked these bitches together Quote
Derpy Drifter Posted November 26, 2016 Author Report Posted November 26, 2016 Well, I ended up figuring it out. I connected the brown on the new switch to the black on the harness, and the red on the new switch to the r/b on the harness. Not really sure why it works but it does. I have full functionality of the key and kill switch. Quote
