What does this accomplish...yes this a real question I've heard of it but what's the exact reason..same as porting cylinders?

It's not a huge gain, but it's easy. No reason to let a few ponies on the table.

Easy enough I can do it myself...just need to make sure the gasket lays close to

Make sure the gasket matches the porting on the cylinders first. When you put it on the cases to match them use some dykem and mark where the gasket goes so you don't mess up the gasket. When you set it on there to mark them make sure the dowels are in place and it should be pretty close. Go slow.

Job finished! I smoothed everything together.

How far into the cases did,you go looks around a half to quarter inch..I'd really like to try this myself

I removed material in the vertical part. The rest is just matching the 2 surfaces

Right on I'm gonna do some more reading up on this cuz that looks easy enough...gonna practice on a wacked set of cases first tho lol
